Warmaster Fantasy - Orcs & Goblins Counter Set Revised

Jeffery Warner's amazing orcs!
Revised Version 2! If you previously downloaded the revised Orc & Goblin set, this is a new version replacing that revised set. It follows the suggestions for the counter layout made by John Ewing, along with a few more tweaks. (Updated 2-12-15)

Orcs and Goblins are one of the classic armies of the original Warmaster rules. This set replaces my earlier set of counters, bringing it more in line with the look of my current Warmaster Ancients sets. I've also tried to have as much variety as possible in this set. For example, the set has some units of regular orcs as well as savage orcs. It has night goblins featured in the original rules, but also includes units of regular goblins and forest goblins. I've also included many commander counters as possible in all their iterations.

When making this set, I tried using only images of 28mm orcs and goblins from the earlier 4th and 5th editions of Warhammer as well as some 10mm figures from Warmaster when possible. After all, Warmaster is patterned after these earlier 1990s sculpts, which have quite a bit of tongue-in-cheek humor about them and remain my favorite period of GW and their miniature games.

But enough of my blathering! I hope you enjoy this and my other sets.

Printing the Counters
I hope some of you find these counter sets useful. You can print these at office printing places, like Staples, using heavy card stock paper printed at actual size. You can also print on regular paper and then glue the counters to wooden bases. (Check the older posts on how I did this with my Empire army.) Currently, I'm printing the counter sets at Staples using regular paper, spray gluing the back of each sheet with Super77, attaching each sheet to an old comic book backing board, and then cutting out the counters using a sharp Xacto knife with steel ruler. Using the backing boards makes for cheap, sturdy counters.

Orc Army Tactics (Not my own ideas. Can't remember where I read this.): Dangling your goblins as bait to lure your foe into a devastating counterattack is a tried-and-true tactic. The Orcs, especially the Black Orcs, can mix it up with most infantry on favorable terms, except Dwarf and Chaos Warriors.  Try to charge with the chariots to get that extra attack per stand.
