During the weapons demonstration in front of some US reenactors, Doc shows off his personal favorite--the Bren gun. Watching him fire this weapon was a treat. What a fantastic weapon. Doc is supposed to be a British medic. A medic with a Bren gun sounds like a fearful combination! More photos coming.

This is a Title I Didn't Want to Have to Write
We got a phone call from my step-mother yesterday morning that my father passed away shortly after 6am. Some of you might recall his several-year battle with illness, our trip to see him last spring during Cold Wars (the last time I saw him), and his liver transplant last summer. Unfortunately, he fought constant complications with the transplant and died in the hospital Saturday morning. He was 70. (The photo is from a couple years ago when he was still doing better.) It hasn't been easy the last couple days. (Working on some miniature painting yesterday helped take my mind of things a bit.) We'll be heading up North later this week. We were planning on attending Recon at the end of the month. We still might go. We're just taking it day by day right now.

Road to Victory: Modern Equipment
Today I'm posting photos of some modern equipment from last weekend's Road to Victory reenactment. Our county police had some of their equipment on display. Later in the morning, they landed one of the copters right in the middle of the festivities. It was a fun experience as leaves and sand blew everywhere! It's one way to clear a lawn!
